I like how you wove together the themes of lists & feeling alone& how listening transformed that feeling. And I love that song. And maybe you have ADD?

One of my children struggles with the same thing. For her anxiety kind of takes her out of the moment and makes it hard to listen to anything other than the voice instead her head that is always going. Thanks, as always, for sharing so beautifully. ❤️

In my classroom, we work on “listening deeply to others.” This is not easy for 6 years old but it’s important work. We talk about what it looks like, sounds like and feels like in our bodies.

Great essay. I find it very thoughtful. I have problems staying focused while listening. I've found on zoom that subtitles can help. Reading stops my daydreaming.
