I love contact improvisation, I have Martin’s book that he wrote on it.
I must say I agree with Martin that I value your sharing and don’t find it heavy. I think it’s so valuable these days to have authenticity. There’s so little of it in the world. Maybe people have a hard time with it sometimes. But I think it nourishes our souls. And even people that don’t have a debilitating illness still are experiencing great losses in their lives and I’m sure can relate to the feelings that you share. I too look forward to listening to your blog every week! And no pressure either 😎
I bought Naked Realities couple mths ago opened it connected a bit and thought ' it's too painful to read, too close to home ( in both senses of the word) .
Today the gloom and sobbing continue ,...grieving for ' my life ' the seemingly ' small things .
Thank you for this interview! I am glad that I have danced with Martin (as a contact improv student) and met Hal a few times (as brother to my good friend Johanna). I can relate to some of what you both said, as I have an invisible disability (TBI- Traumatic Brain Injury) and have days when I "overdo" and then pay for it afterwards. And... 15 minutes a day to do something creative sounds like a great goal for me, too.
Fabulous Hal. Please keep being vulnerable in your writing.
Thanks for this wonderful interview Hal.

So grateful for the opportunity we had to dance with you at SSI hall some years back Martin.
And, for sharing this poetry and condition, as it is moving in and through your being.
And, for both of your capacities to receive and bring light to beauty, movement and truth through your words.
Be well.
