I'm so glad for your quite life that has brought you closer to God but I hate it that you cannot be involved in some of the things you did previously. Flower garden and brussel sprouts sound wonderful. Keep posting pictures. Be sure to post many many pictures of the wedding. It should be a blast. I'm going to be praying that you will receive extra energy and strength so you can enjoy every minute of that time. I also am going to work on having more best days ever myself, instead of being so negative.

I just finished my walk. Thunder was in the background , but I got home before the rain. Glad to hear about the wedding coming up. Maybe a day is too long. Best minute ever, waking up hearing the birds sing, listening to music I love, some of your songs, Hal,
I'll often tell people that I hope they have the best day possible. Or if they ask how my day is, I'll say I'm having the best day possible (on days when it's true). This began the day 23 years ago that we received so e surprising medical news and the doctor said it to us as we left his office.
Hi Hal. I am getting so much out of reading your posts, every time! Today's post made me think, and want to share this day's moment with you. When I read your post, I had just come in from beginning to prep my veg garden for spring planting. I'm hoping to grow a million habaneros and make jerk sauce. Anyway, it was really sunny and humid out, and I was pulling awful tenacious weeds, and sweating, and saying the F-word a lot. But simultaneously I am imagining the cleared land, the happy plants, the restful times when I can just watch it grow. And honestly the restful times are longer than the f-word times, for which I am grateful. Also, I decided to stop when I got tired and do the rest another day. And I came in and had an iced coffee, read your posting, and sat and talked with my new boyfriend, who is lovely and funny, and planned to go grocery shopping later... the small things of everyday life, and it kind of feels like the best day ever.

We too have a porch where Jo Anne and I can experience our own best days ever. Sometimes friends come to visit us and sometimes not, but every day is unique. I never tire of hearing the birds singing or our rooster "Rico" crowing, gently coaxing his flock of hens to move to the next patch of bugs in the yard. It's their best day ever and it's ours too. Thanks Hal for the reminder. I hope you have many best days ever to come!
