I am so happy to hear from you, Hal. I had hoped that your illness was in permanent, or at least, long term - remission, but I guess that was only a wish. However, I am very glad that you are continuing to learn and grow and create beauty.

Greetings, I love you right back Uncle Hal, your artwork, tessellates off the page into atmosphere and gathers in my third eye directly connected to my heart. Your geometric shapes are seeing moments ahead of your pain, shining starlight of courage and grace, patience, creativity and lovelight on your face, lighting up your journey. Love peace and color, Geraldine

I love your artwork! I'd never have guessed that these patterns were of Islamic origin. I initially figured they were quilt patterns. The colored pencils and their shading really appeal to me too. Keep up the good work! I'm impressed at how you keep going despite your challenges.

I have been admiring your creations. I didn’t see them at first because I was just listening, not looking at the text. Your technique of coloring the centers of each cell the same hue but lighter results in an almost 3D effect.

My own experience experience of color theory is mainly from use of the Munsell Soil Color book, which I used for some 40 years in my work. It was organized by Hue, Value and Chroma. Each page has color chips of the same hue. Then the color chips go from light to dark from top to bottom, and left to right from neutral to intense. The book doesn’t have all colors, just the ones that can be found in soils (still a lot.)

It’s always great to hear from you Hal. Your drawings are beautiful. I loved going to All Media with you on our little excursion last spring. I got some collage paper that I’m still using. Kent has it all!

Hey Hal! Been wanting to get in touch and say hi for a while. I used to do a star project with the kids at Christmas back when I taught Maths. If I can dig out the PowerPoint I'll send it to you. You'll probably love it.

luv that All Media still lives too...nice controlled patterns. Reminds me of Kent School Of Art Fiber Instructor Marlene Frost decades ago expressing her excitement of the Islamic patterns she saw traveling. Telling me specifically that this was something I would or should experience. Fate and budgetary realities manifest such via you. Good explanation Hal. .I'm in bed too. You're putting the pizzaz and casual meet up on the street in my evening .

Beautiful, Hal. I’ve never tried those pencils, but have enjoyed Prismacolor ones for years & found them superior to run-of-the-mill colored pencils. I really enjoy Islamic patterns too. I’m too tired to comment any further, but want to thank you for sharing and wish you well. I’m recovering from a surgery & have been using eye pillows of late, as well. Take care & keep making art when you can. Love, Carol

I love your interest in art and music Hal. You are so very talented and intelligent. I feel so blessed to know you. Just maybe that "awful" illness you have is what enables you to spend time doing these artistic endeavors. I'll be keeping my eye out watching for my socks. Keep writing and growing. Pat

Hal, I love these & as I shared with you I came to know of them as Altair designs in the 70’s-books of geometric patterns by Ensor Holiday , a British biologist who became fascinated (like you) during an extended recovery from a car accident.

These patterns are absolutely beautiful. The colors and the patterns Bring me such a sense of peace. Their shapes are in perfect alignment and I'm wondering if this Is what our planet needs ...alignment instead of chaos. Anyway thank you so much for sharing is and I hope he won't be to continue because you have a creative ability for this
