It makes me happy to see and hear you making music again, even for just a short time! And you hang in there too Hal and don't give up...and keep looking for the simple joys around every corner. <3 Thanks for sharing.

I have faith that every challenge is my life is there for me. That it is the precise medicine I need to get to where I’m going. Especially when it’s a tough pill to swallow. That’s when I need to surrender. Thanks for sharing your journey so honestly and beautifully Hal.

I'm so sorry you're hit with yet a new thing and hope it's out of your body soon and you're having more good days than bad. Of course it's hard to find the little joys around every corner when you're not going many places and are struggling with pain and exhaustion. So glad you got to enjoy playing with Kenge Kenge and having them with you on your porch. That's a big little joy. ♥️

People always ask me how I got through the grief of losing two husbands and my response is the same as your friend’s: there is one moment every day that makes life worth being alive… I look for those moments. They don’t even have to be that grand. Birds at my feeder, a hummingbird, the sun sparkling through the leaves of the trees leaving a splotchy pattern on the ground, the smell of things growing, a cup of coffee, the smile of one of my nieces or nephew, my cat purring on my lap, a good book… you get the point.

Anyway, my suffering isn’t physical and is no way comparable to yours so this isn’t advice about how you should look at your day. Just agreement on words from your friend. I guess when my second husband was ill with brain cancer we used his good days as our anchor to keep going. We lived those days to the fullest because we knew they were all we had. All of this has taught me to live in the moment.
