I got hit by this scam too! Though I didn't get as far as writing a song. Who knows how many songs for non-existent children are now out there in the universe? It's kind of a sweet thought, I guess, but also a weird one, and sort of ghostly.

This is the weirdest scam I've ever heard of. Still amazes me that someone thought that would be a fun and fruitful way to get $2700. But the song is so utterly delightful and makes me cry. Maybe you wrote it for my inner 4-year-old. Even though Flash wasn't my hero and I don't think I even knew what soccer was when I w as 4, it works. It's for all our inner 4-year-olds.

What an insane scam….. they got a song out of it… but were they trying to get you to cash a bogus check and send them the balance before their check bounced. It’s insane!
