My heart goes out to you Hal. A couple weeks back when Jo Anne and I met you at the farmers' market you said that you weren't feeling well, but that you were traveling to Florida to see Hallie perform. I'm so happy that you were able to achieve that! We people who are still able to live our lives largely at our direction need a glimpse into the lives of others who don't always enjoy that option.

Thank you Hal for opening our eyes to this reality.

Fritz.

Sending my humble head bowing prayer hands to Peggy, Martin, Martin MN and Hal. For providing this episode with such clarity and power of how severe M. E impacts real peoples lives. People who were like the majority of population before and who now live with individual and collective brute harsh heaviness of a multi systemic disease that is waiting for proper treatment. We are waiting to rise again.

I like Hal am moderate severe. Painfully aware of how this thing can decline, how I even with so much experinece STILL am on the cycle of 'shit I pushed it again and now have I ruined what I had'. For Martins @missingneighbour reminder of how he 'vigilantly practice pacing, do less than I'm able'.. Thank u! It's the do less than I'm able bit that I fall. Down on on repeat.. Maybe next time I'll learn, if I'm granted one that is.

Peggy I so relate to human contact and crashing its a big problem for me I'd really like to chat with u if I'm able. Hal would u be able to ask Peggy if I can write to her and how best to.

So to all my brothers and sisters on this green and blue ball who live in the corridor of suffering your light helps me see mine and we shine brighter in the dark. Together. We're waiting for our time again and it will come.. Whitney Dafoe says he promises... His dad is a researcher.. Someone holds the key we just need to find it xx

My love Emma fr uk

Hal, Your clear-eyed account of what you're living with - told with candor, yet without self-pity - is remarkable. I'm so glad you saw Hallie in The Little Mermaid; gladder still that you're able to choose joy. Thank you for this essay. I will complain a whole lot less today - and feel thankful for joy.

Summer cold… do you think it was COVID? We’re surging with a new variant right now, and most of its symptoms are cold-like. I‘ve heard accounts of people that get set back from COVID, but some of them manage to return to baseline. The uncertainty of this illness is so trying.
