You are resilient and adaptable. Loss of control in any form is a tremendous emotional challenge. A trigger point for me. You seem to have founds ways of surfing possibilities into a daily shape that does not suit you. But you do it. You put your mind on it. Like each day is an awakening, rude or otherwise. And you stay awake. Pretty great.
Goodmorning Hal! I wanted to share a conversation I had with our son John. I asked him if the guitar lessons he had with you were helpful. He said , " Oh yah, I would not have learned to play if it wasn't for Hal". Thank you Hal!
Thanks again for your honest beautiful sharing. I love you too. I missed that word on Wordle too! I hardly ever missed the word. Sending you love and envisioning you taking that road trip and seeing your daughter!
I know this is sort of a side point but I also love Wordle and also had the first reaction of riper is not a word! It’s more ripe because it’s one syllable!! See why we’re friends from the world of words and language?!
On another note, I like the language you share here. I hope the sunshine today is a blessing. Those trips and imaginings in the mind in grief are worthwhile, valuable, and healing imo. Like childhood, we can “go” anywhere and “do” anything if we can imagine it in our minds.
I read in a book about yoga once by Susanne Colon I believe the name is that some research found that even in paraplegia, the envisioning of exercise had benefits for individuals who could not actually move limbs due to paralysis if I recall correctly. I was amazed by that power of the mind. Great, easily accessible book about yogic thinking in western speak btw!
I appreciate your efforts, writing this piece. I very much resonate with it - in particular the mornings being so difficult. I recently had covid which has made my fatigue levels much much worse...
Thank you for the update Hal , you are truly amazing . Reading everything you have written since I met you on LWS makes me even more grateful for everything my body can do. My challenges are from overworking and thinking I was invincible , not realising that body parts wear out . That’s easy for me to accept . You , however have something different and harder to deal with and yet every week we hear your news and how you got on . You are awesome Hal . Thank you
Thanks again for being truthful and writing. Your writing is terrific

I also failed to get "Riper". It was the end of a 97 day streak, my longest ever!
I love you, Hal! ❤️
It was such a happy thing to see you the other day! I love you, too! Really!! ♥️♥️♥️

Hi,
You are setting new standards for folks trying to figure out how to travel a different more challenging path of life. Thank you!!!!
Same on the God thing. The “higher power” term helps, and so does “Not Me.”
