Wow! I'm a brand new reader (via Substack Office Hours) and to say I'm inspired is an understatement! I'm working on a creative project right now that's feeling stalled and this post was a game changer. It relit the fire in me. Thank you! As to which piece was my favorite...I loved them all, but the one with the drum was so hypnotic and meditative, I think that one spoke most deeply to me. I have a drum called a Hapi that makes a similar sound and I just love it. Thank you for inspiring me today! :)
Lovely and true. These are instruments I never would have known about. Thanks for bringing them to me. The spark is what , I agree, is what takes me out of time and space and delivers to be a state of grace. It’s a mystery

I shared the tik tok posts with my grandson who naturally liked them. And told him you were very ill but in spite a that could play a few minutes each day and record in 25 steps. All good motivation for the power of determination. He taught himself aerial back flips off a trampoline using a utube instructional video (age 10) in 7 minutes. In front of me on Friday. Like you, he’s got something in him that won’t quit what he loves.

Hal! Thank you for the jolt of creative inspiration. Watching/listening to these videos made me smile and tear up at the same time. Just knowing that there is so much out there to make and do and discover if we just open our minds and hearts like you have. I’m in awe.
As for favorites, that was a tough one. If I had to pick, I’d say the harmonica because I love the music you made, and I’m also a very visual person, so I found the whole experience mesmerizing.
