This sounds like grief as much as any grief story I ever heard, my friend. Grief can be brutal. I’ve learned in grief that it helped when I quit thinking I had to be over it and leave the past in the past and torturing myself with that thought because I would carry it with me into the rest of my life (the love, the joy, the memories, the people and times and things gone by and lost). I think that maybe you referenced that as having your memories. Those are yours and those are with you. After they don’t hurt terribly, they often comfort. We are thinking of you.

Oh Hal...you continue to amaze and inspire. Even though your life isn't what it used to be or what you would like it to be, you continue to make the world a better place in new and wonderful ways. I bet your Tone Chimers were great! And I bet you made it a boatload of fun! I consider myself and pretty good musician but I keenly remember the time or two I jumped into a bell choir rehearsal. Those notes keep coming at you and it's not as easy as it looks! Thanks for sharing your memories! <3

Good morning! Nothing warms my soul like a Hal Walker piano improv and the tones of your voice. Thanks for your reflections - it's like listening to your heart. Hearing you speak gives the words depth, nuance, humor and personality. Also thinking how well produced your "Living in a Body" podcasts are - thanks again for sharing.
