Well, it sounds like you can play the harp indeed. I notice you have a banjo up there too. I’ve got an unplayed banjo myself. I used to feel guilty about it, but now I don’t think of it much.

Loved the harp music. I am recovering from the same disorder. At one time had 30 plus instruments. Have gradually been rehoming them. It’s been hard to accept that no, I’m not going to become a fiddle player, hammered dulcimer player or cellist! Hope your trip goes well. Thanks for your open hearted sharing.

If that was you playing the harp in the background, you should keep it!

I have a beautiful purple Luna guitar that my daughter named “Stella.” . I sold my Vitamix in order to buy her. She was going to change my life, become my instrument d’jour, replacing the Roland keyboard I no longer played. For a few months I tried to force my reluctant fingers to conform to the neck of that guitar and press those strings down just so to make music. I even wrote a few songs with my daughter, who adopted Stella and wrote a few songs of her own. Stella has been living under my bed for the past 10 years. Sometimes I consider selling her, maybe buying another Vitamix, although that hadn’t changed my life the way it was supposed to either. But a harp, that might be different. If a harp just fell into my hands, as if placed there by the angels themselves, I’d surely practice every day and become the accidental harpist I’d always dreamed I could be. If you don’t want that harp Hal, I might know someone who does 😉.

I loved your post this morning, Hal. The truth is out! YOU have ALWAYS been a bona fide hoarder!

Remembering a trip to Gadsden, Alabama years ago when you came upon a musical instrument in a shop downtown.

(Maybe some kind of electronic device to record sounds????) On the way back to Birmingham, you asked Dad to turn around and go back and buy it. He did and you stopped ‘whining.’ Your dad was such a sucker when it came to your musical whims. 🤣
